Using Airtable web clipper and automations to automate a successful newsletter
Here’s how I, Steven, run Boston Climate Tech, a 1,300-person events newsletter and use automation to save hours a month
In the last year, I, Steven, grew the Boston Climate Tech newsletter from 0 to over 1,300 subscribers.
Here’s how I used Airtable Automation and web clipper to automate most of the newsletter writing.
Status Quo (without automation) - at least 1-2 hours of work per newsletter
1. Gathering events: Manually copy-paste events into a substack drafts post or text file (45min)
2. Generating newsletter: Manual copy-paste and rewrite each event in the newsletter (45min)
With automation- less than 30min of work
1. Gathering events: Clip events using webclipper (15min)
2. Generating newsletter: Autogenerate using Airtable base to Google docs text automation (10min)
